I ordered online and got my package a few weeks ago from a dear friend who brought it all the way from the US (yey!). As a makeup artist, I’m always on the look out for natural shade lipsticks to use on my bridal clients. So I got another MAC lipstick in Ravishing since the color looks promising. So here goes my product review:
According to MAC, Ravishing is a clean light peach coral and the color is exactly how they described it. The lipstick is creamy and glides smoothly on the lips like butter. It also imparts a subtle shine since it’s in cremesheen finish.
Since the color is a bright peach coral, it kind of looked intense on me and out of place when I used it alone without putting any of my other makeup. But once I’ve done my brows, applied BB Cream and a peach shade blush on my cheeks, MAC Ravishing made my face look fresh and gave it a pop of color. This can be worn as an everyday lipstick and would look fantastic on parties especially when you’re wearing a coral or peach dress. I also think this would work amazingly on tan skinned girls.
For bridal makeup, this in my opinion may be a bit too bright and orangey so I tone it down by using different shades of lip liners underneath. So far, I’ve come up with several soft coral shades that’s simply eye candy
MAC Ravishing doesn’t look orange at all in the tube. It’s true color really comes out once applied on the lips.
Here’s MAC Ravishing applied on the lips.
Packaging wise, it’s the same regular bullet shape lipstick of MAC which looks classy for me. But in terms of functionality, I’m not a fan because it can be quite tedious rummaging through your lipstick collection if you have a lot. The bottom sticker of the lipstick only bears the name instead of other brands that has the color of the sticker same as the lipstick shade so it’s easier to spot.
This retails for P1,000 in local MAC stores. But I ordered online and got a better price at P650 (converted from $15) so can’t complain there
Good staying power and pigmentation. When applied alone on the lips without any primer or lipliner, this can last for 4-5 hours before it starts to fade.
The only thing I don’t like about this product is that it tends to settle into lip lines so better exfoliate and start with smooth lippies before applying this.
Here’s my score board:
