I know I might be one of the thousands who had blogged about winged eyeliner but it’s been such an endless favorite (including mine :)) I felt like I had to write about it. No matter what the occasion is, a winged eyeliner can add instant sultriness to you overall look.
There are so many ways to do a winged eyeliner but I’ll be showing the basic version that’s perfect for an everyday makeup look.
Here are 5 easy steps
Start applying a thin line of eyeliner on the inner corner of your eye and as close as possible to the lash line.
Continue applying the eyeliner and making the line thicker as you move towards the outer corner.
Draw a flick starting at the corner of your eye going upwards.
For beginners, you can use the shape/curve of your lower lash line as guide to know the direction of your flick.
I end my flick a quarter or half way of the space between the outer corner eye and end of eyebrow.
Quick Tip: I get better and precise results in drawing the flick with my eyes open.
From the end of the flick, connect it to your lash line.
Fill in the rest with your eyeliner.
Apply eyeliner in your lower lash line starting from the outer corner of your eye.
If you have small eyes like mine or just want a subtle effect, you can line 1/3 or half of the lower lash line.
If you have bigger eyes or would like to go for a dramatic effect, you can line and thinning it out as you go all the way to the tear duct.
Finish off your look by curling your lashes and applying your favorite mascara.
For this tutorial, I used Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in blackest black and Suesh eyeliner brush (purchased locally). I hope you enjoyed this and start creating your own winged eyeliner if you haven’t tried that yet
