Looking radiant and beautiful as you walk down the aisle is every bride’s dream. Having a professional makeup artist that you trust will definitely enhance your beauty but great makeup starts with great skin. So here are tips to wow everyone on your big day!
1. Adopt a Solid Skin Care Regimen
Start acquiring a skin care regimen few months before you say “I Do”. What’s important is to clean, exfoliate and moisturize.
Step 1: Clean your face and neck to remove all impurities. Dot a pea-sized amount of facial wash to your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin then massage into skin in circular motions.
Step 2: Exfoliate. This is an essential step that most of us tend to forget. Exfoliating at least once a week with a soft facial brush or wash cloth will remove dead skin cells and expose newer ones for a more youthful skin. Be careful though not to overdo it as it will strip off your skin’s natural oil and make it dry.
Step 3: Always moisturize your skin day and night using the same amount stated in Step 1. When picking a moisturizer or cream for day time use, make sure it has SPF to protect your skin from age spots and early wrinkles caused by the harsh sun. It’s also best to wait at least 5 minutes for the skin to absorb the moisturizer before applying anything after.
If you are keen in having a skin routine in full blast, you can also pick a toner to be used after washing your face, an eye cream to lessen under eye circles and a spot corrector for those with dark spots.
2. Sleep Away Your Skin Woes
Get at least 8 hours of sleep everyday in order to give your skin cells time to regenerate at night allowing your skin to restore itself.
3. Drink Lots of Water
This sounds really cliche but drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily will do good to your overall body. Water is a natural arsenal that will keep your skin hydrated and in turn make it look healthier and supple.
4. Eat the Right Food
According to Ms. Samantha Heller, a clinical nutritionist at NYU Medical Center In New York City, “Everything you eat becomes a part of not only your inner being, but the outer fabric of your body as well. The healthier the foods are that you consume, the better your skin will look.”
I strongly agree that properly selecting your food intake will help you combat skin problems and even prevent them.
Blueberries, strawberries, plums and tomatoes are a good start. They are known to have high antioxidants in them that helps us stay young since it acts as an anti-aging. Having a cup of green tea is also quite a powerful beverage for your skin’s antioxidants. Protein is also another good source to improve your skin since it serves as a primary substance for replacing worn-out or dead skin cells. Food that have good amount of protein are lean meat (meat with less fat), poultry, fish, eggs and milk.
Hope these tips help all future brides out there to be picture perfect as the day gets closer to one of the biggest events in your life
